The fascination of these watches relates back to their historical relationship. A famous name of early aviation and an ingenious German aircraft engineer

Hugo Junkers
(1859 – 1935)

1915 Construction of the first single-engine metal aircraft “J 1” with corrugated sheet metal and aerodynamic wing profile.

1919 Construction of a single-engine low-wing aircraft (4 passengers) “F 13”, which quickly became known worldwide.

1930 Construction of the four-engine aircraft “G 38”, at that time the world’s largest civil airliner (34 passengers).

1931 Use of the three-engine famous commercial aircraft
“JU 52” with a speed of 290 km/h and a range of 1,300 km.
This type was used for decades by Lufthansa and many other early airlines worldwide. The aircraft was used for passengers, cargo and mail as it achieved excellent safety, reliability and punctuality for its time.

The Junkers aircraft “JU 52” reached many world records, e.g.
1919 Altitude record (6.700m)
1928 First Atlantic flight
1930 Around the world
1937 The Himalaya flight

Today, a “JU 52” has a dominant exhibition venue in the Deutsches Museum in Munich, another aircraft will be shown at Munich International Airport. And… believe it or not, some of these historic airliners are still in service for local tourist flights in Germany.
